Spotnik Smart City Studio — Sustainability Edition
Spotnik Technologies, a Nikai Group company based in U.A.E, presents its latest development of productivity and efficiency software solutions for Smart Cities and Digital Twins.
Spotnik Smart City Studio Pro – (Sustainability Edition) Urban Digital Twin – is a toolkit that allows users to play with data models, geospatial localizations, and 3D environmental features. These allow users to create pages as personal reports called Twin Books ©. This help studies for calculating business value over projected scenarios, and situational context in a city.
Spotnik Smart City Studio Pro – Sustainability Edition – is an enterprise-grade, City Digital Twin toolkit, representing Sustainability KPIs; via the synthetic 4D AI semantic models and pre-integrated GIS features. It uses a versatile 3D Engine enabling visualization, benchmarking, and simulation of data streams impacting Sustainability agendas and Roadmap to Net Zero emissions.
First of its kind, it includes visualized simulation of how the physical and environmental factors affect decarbonization activities and CO2 emission costs.
About Sustainability
Spotnik has done intensive research and valuation around Sustainability consultants defining the critical aspects of City-wide decarbonization and Net zero emissions strategies for Smart Cities. Our consultants develop a use-case discovery framework for where the data insights and simulation scenarios are supported by open and selected data sets, logic models and calculations for AI data algorithms, and data science exercises to build a value-focused, data-driven toolkit.
Some of the uses and examples are already available on the Spotnik Smart City Studio Pro including the correlation between city sectors’ population density, traffic impact, air quality, real estate asset classification, and the energy levels per community and building. From these sources, the algorithms calculate and forecast scenarios by applying variables to those factors. For example, the impact of a new residential community foresees the increase in CO2 emissions and the cost of sustainable development.
To extract the financial impact and costs of the dynamics in new city developments, we have enriched the global standards models to show oil barrel cost and tree seed relations to understand better the business case for decarbonization. In a similar approach, we have studied the relations between building types, energy equipment infrastructure, and differences for independent vs. district energy sourcing (heating or cooling) to re-calculate schemas for those assets identified as prospects for retrofitting.
About the Data
Spotnik established a data management framework and logical models for AI simulations from city-wide open data. This includes proprietary data modeling and algorithms, and value-driven use cases for the sustainability domain. The solution utilizes these data streams, geo-localized over a GIS-enabled 3D Game Engine.
This brings value from insights to foresight, understanding and acting on CO2 emissions, Geospatial analytics, Decarbonization Planning, Urban Development $ impact, Retrofitting Sustainability Cases, City-Wide Smart Communities, Energy impact, Waste, IoT, and AI. Additionally, we extract data values related to traffic patterns and fuel consumption feeding or data models and algorithm for emissions calculations.
Other Use Cases
Initially presented addressing Sustainability, Net Zero, and decarbonization domain, the solution is also ready for other use cases such as the development of EVs and Drones Mobility, Structural Retrofitting, Community-Level Recycling, and IoT BMS. Spotnik Smart City Studio Pro is pre-loaded with a consulting framework for easy and fast deployment of a city-wide, data-driven models and processes for use-case realization.
Having data intelligence from building structures, longevity, and consumption over seasons among other factors helps us to define logic models for simulating scenarios. Using the 3D engine features we project changes in environmental parameters related to weather conditions, time, and even implications from water, sand, wind, or quakes.
The GIS enablement gives Spotnik Smart City Studio the capability to identify locations, navigate, and calculate routes, or explore from various camera perspectives and positions with 3D-enabled journeys and recordings.
Another direct value-added of having a GIS-enabled tool is the possibility to get data directly from the client, utilities, telecom networks, and implement the models over the Smart City Studio for calculating the impact of existing infrastructure i.e. GSM base stations, and its evolution with new 5G equipment or replacements, considering smart grid connectivity, and standalone fuel-based power consumptions at off-grid locations.
The available custom visualization maps, and the connection to 3D engine features, presents a very graphical and quick-to-spot-search specific locations with lower or higher impact on sustainability KPIs. It is important to remark on the relevance of having a macro view of data across the territories, so the sustainability impact can be measured and defined for considerable sizes, making sense of changes.
Customizable Features
Beyond the technical achievement, the solution includes a configurable module to define a data-driven business value logic models, which empower the 3D Cities with easy-to-apply benchmarking and simulation scenarios.
The toolkit’s Twin Book © helps users organize and define the reports, views, pre-sets, or configuration preferences for exporting value insights to different formats. Our team is currently developing a calculator for users to input and create custom models, so the use cases can be unlimited upon the selection of assets, communities, districts, or city-wide applications.
Implementing new cities is quite straightforward as the back-end and configurable features are ready to connect to different sources of data (following our data-set structure guidelines) and the pre-integration with open-source GIS facilitates the creation of new 3D geolocated urban landscapes.
The ability to import and export files and formats of data, objects, sensors, and other elements enriching the Digital Twin is also a critical module in our solid technical architecture. The solution also facilitates connectivity to 3rd party APIs and services. For matters of IT Platform, security, scalability, cloud, or on-premises deployments, we follow the latest proven architectures and continuous improvement for best performance and efficiency always with a user-centric view and build for the purpose, data value-driven solution.
Solution Roadmap
With this modular and customization approach, we have an ambitious roadmap where future editions of the Smart City Studio Pro will differentiate those versions for GIS features applied to geolocation and mobility vs other versions tailored for a smaller scope of data assets, making more emphasis on realistic visualization or physical simulations. Spotnik Smart City Studio Pro is focused on the complementary value to those Digital Twin platforms oriented to construction or operations (as-built environments) by making emphasis on financial and management intelligence for to-be environments and foresight simulations on sustainability.
The solution is a business support tool for the Public and Private sector’s financial marketing and strategy management roles as urban planners, architectural firms, sustainability departments, smart city consultants, real estate developers, local authorities analytics, EHS and CSR reporters, technologists, and data researchers.
Spotnik Product Roadmap includes new features and applications to other businesses. This includes Web3 domains, development of new Proprietary Algorithms using Spotnik Business Logic Models, GIS integration, 3D Game Engine Physical Systems, and Data Science.
